WALTERS is a family oriented community with a high quality of life. Known as the Heart of Cotton County the town has transformed into a suburban community with a “Big Heart”. Walters is easily accessed via I-44 or the 277 interchange from Wichita Falls, Texas, or Lawton, OK. Educational opportunities abound. With an enrollment of 708 and 7 National Board Certified Teachers on staff, Walters has a superb school system that includes a high school, a middle school and elementary school with many after school educational activities and programs. The high school offers a curriculum designed to prepare students for productive citizenship in a fast-changing world. Students may choose a program of traditional classes, applied classes or advanced-placement classes. Sports offered include baseball, basketball, cross-country track, football, golf, softball, and track and field.

WALTERS is also located 25 minutes away from Cameron University in Lawton, OK, or 45 minutes from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. Walters is close to Lawton Municipal Airport with daily flights to DFW Airport and is 1 hour and 20 minutes to the state’s primary hub for air travel at Oklahoma City’s Will Rogers World Airport.
